Avent Breast Pump Parts - Replacement Accessories
All Avent breast pumps have unique
parts. Manual pumps require different equipment than electric pumps. However,
all breast pumps should come with the necessary parts for accurate function.
Check your instructions for a list of parts in your Avent breast pump once you
purchase it. Inventory everything to make sure you have what you need. Your pump
should include all of the following:
• A silicone petal massager (the let-down massage cushion)
• Pump cover
• Silicone diaphragm
• Silicone diaphragm stem
• Milk funnel
• Handle
• Pump body
• White valve
• Locking ring
• Bottle adapter
• Collection bottles and/or bags for the milk
• Funnel cover/stand
• Dome cap for bottles
• Newborn teat for bottle feeding
• Travel cover for bottles
Setting up your Avent pump should be quick and easy. If any assembly is
required, instructions should be easy to follow. The parts fit together
perfectly. Once you use your breast pump, be sure to keep it clean and
sterilized. Once taken apart, most of the pieces can be cleaned in the
dishwasher with soapy water. You may want to clean small parts by hand, though,
so they aren’t lost. Be sure to wash your hands before touching clean products
to reassemble the pump. If your pump is kept clean, it will be safe for you to
use and the milk you collect will be safe for your baby to eat.
If your Avent pump starts to malfunction, odds are you need a replacement part.
There are plenty of places to shop for them online, such as Lactation Connection
(www.lactationconnection.com). This store offers Avent breast pump parts, such
as sealing disks, pump handles, bottles, flange diaphragms, and white valves.
You can also find conversion kits to transform your manual pump into an
electronic one or adapters to plug your Avent pump into your vehicle’s lighter.
Breastpumps.com is another online store that sells top-of-the-line Avent
replacement parts. Here you’ll find car adapters for electric pumps, microwave
steam cleaners to sterilize bottles, and electric baby food warmers.
The Philip’s online store (the manufacturers of the Avent line) also offers some
parts. You will find accessories, such as four-ounce breast milk containers,
washable breast pads and bra liners, and nipple protectors on their webpage.
However, the Philip’s online store isn’t the most comprehensive source of
information for breast pumps. The most in-depth instruction guide for the Avent
pumps, especially the ISIS model, is at www.mybirthcare.com/isis_instructions.asp.
Here you will find diagrams of all the pump’s parts, instructions on how to
clean and reassemble your pump, and tips for its use. This website also provides
information on milk storage in a refrigerator and freezer. Check out this
documentation if you need help in any of these areas.
